Hillary Clinton made an actual “woman card” for her supporters

The US presidential campaign’s gender war is in full gear, especially now that the two likely candidates for the Democratic and Republican tickets are Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

Earlier this week, Trump said Clinton was playing the “woman’s card” to get elected – and that it was the only “card” she holds. “She’s got nothing else going. And frankly, if Hillary Clinton were a man, I don’t think she’d get 5 percent of the vote,” he said. The Clinton campaign was quick to respond, capitalizing on Trump’s disparaging remarks.

First, the candidate herself answered, saying “Well, if fighting for women’s health care and paid family leave and equal pay is playing the woman card, then deal me in.” Then, the campaign launched a new fundraising effort: a woman card that fits right in your wallet.

The “woman card” meme took off independently as well, with women embracing the idea of a card that shows exactly how they are discriminated against. This is a card I got in an email from a friend’s mom:
