Holly Willoughby has shared an emotional Instagram post to mark her son Chester’s sixth birthday, while joking that his cake could spark a family row.

The This Morning presenter posted a sweet image of Chester about to blow out the candles on his Chelsea football club themed cake, but admitted that the choice of team hadn’t gone down well with everyone in the family.

Willoughby joked that her husband Dan Badwin, an Arsenal fan, would not be impressed about having the Chelsea cake in the house.

“If anyone knows my arsenal loving husband you'll know how much this cake for Chester’s birthday is killing him,” the mum-of-three explained in the caption.

She went on to say she believed it was the fault of former Chelsea footballer, now manager, Frank Lampard that Chester had chosen to support a different team from his dad.

“I blame you entirely @franklampard,” she quipped.

Willoughby went on to credit Chester for always doing his own thing.

“That’s our boy all over,” she wrote. “Marching to the beat of his own drum, spreading absolute joy wherever he goes.

“We love you so very much Chester Chops… how is my beautiful baby six already!”

Naturally, the birthday shout out prompted a bit of a football team debate in the comments, with even Frank Lampard himself getting involved.

“Happy Birthday Chester my little Chelsea friend! The boy just has amazing taste in his football teams,” Lampard wrote.

“Next stop a Chelsea cake for Dan on his birthday and my work is done . Hope he has a great day.”

Former Chelsea captain, John Terry also chimed in writing: “Happy Birthday Chester. Loving the Chelsea cake,” alongside a blue heart emoji.

But The Chase host Bradley Walsh, who is an Arsenal fan, couldn’t help but share disappointment in the choice of cake. He wrote: “Chester!!! What is the matter with you Cockle???!!! Happy Birthday and UP THE GUNNERS !!!!!! X.”

Last week, Willoughby gave a further insight into her family life after sharing a sweet letter Chester wrote to the tooth fairy after he lost his first tooth and couldn’t find it.

Chester’s note read: “To Tooth Fairy, I lost my tooth today in the grass. Please can you still come. Love Chester.”

Sharing a photo of the letter on Instagram, Willoughby added that despite the “slight panic” she was “sure the tooth fairy will still come”.

Chester is the youngest of the children Willoughby shares with her TV producer husband, Dan Baldwin, alongside Belle, nine, and Harry, 11.
