Holly Willoughby has given fans an update on her health as she continues her recovery from shingles.

Earlier this week, the This Morning presenter announced she would be taking time off from the show after coming down with the painful illness. She has now given a positive update on her condition, reassuring fans that she's feeling much better.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Willoughby posted a photo of some food colleague Dermot O'Leary brought her and thanked everybody for their well wishes.

"Thank you @dermotoleary for the sweetest delivery of chicken soup and salt beef... just what I needed," she wrote.

The presenter announced over the weekend that she'd be away for the entire week after being diagnosed with the condition, promising to be back as soon as she's better.

Rochelle Humes has been filling in for Willoughby during her absence, joining co-presenter Phillip Schofield on the sofa for most of the week.

The pair addressed her absence on Monday as well as wishing her a speedy recovery. "Holly isn't well today so sadly off today and perhaps a few more days with a bout of shingles. Ouch," Schofield said.

"So if you're watching at home, Holly, then get well soon. The whole team sends their love. Thank you, Rochelle, for coming to play."

Schofield had also taken an extended period of leave over the past couple of weeks, during his brother's court trial.

Following his return to the show, the presenter thanked viewers at home for their support while he'd been away.

"I wanted to say thank you for all your kind messages and support, which were really appreciated," he said. Thank you very much indeed."

This Morning airs on weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
