Hollyoaks confirms George Kiss' fate after death twist

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks has revealed that PC George Kiss is alive following the shocking announcement of his death earlier this week.

His boyfriend John Paul McQueen had been told that the police officer had been killed in the line of duty while attending a violent incident involving four armed men.

However, fans correctly guessed that all wasn't as it seemed since there were scenes featuring George in a recent trailer that hadn't yet aired. George is indeed alive, but we doubt he'll get the same reception as Sid when he recently 'returned from the dead'.

In Wednesday's (April 21) first-look episode on E4, a grieving John Paul told his family that George had been called out to a domestic incident that "got out of hand" while he was investigating.

The teacher later sobbed as he looked through George's belongings, including an engagement ring that the copper had yet to give him. That's when he was stunned to see George pop up out of nowhere with a proposal!

George revealed that he'd masterminded the whole stunt by asking PC Smith to lie to John Paul, as a way to "remind" his partner "how strong" they were together.

"Have you completely lost your mind?" a horrified John Paul replied. "I've been going through hell the past 24 hours. I felt like my life was falling apart."

George continued to manipulate John Paul, saying this was "the only way" for his partner to prove his love because "you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone".

"I've given us another chance," George insisted.

John Paul kept telling George that his behaviour was "not normal", but the PC put more pressure on him by once again proposing.

The next time fans saw the pair, John Paul was telling his family that there had been a case of mistaken identity — George was alive and the pair were engaged.

Only Sally was sceptical, questioning how it "got this far" since John Paul had been visited by PC Smith. When she pointed out that George's return didn't make sense, John Paul ordered her to "get out" of his life.

Later, the engagement celebration was interrupted by James and Ste. After some goading from George about James and Ste settling for "second prize" with each other, the lawyer revealed John Paul had actually come crying to Ste earlier in the week.

"So you did go back to Ste's," George seethed. "You lied to me!"

The first-look episode with left off with John Paul again in fear of his abusive partner.
