Fergus Collins has threatened to sell The Dog out from under the McQueens in Hollyoaks.
The villain recently forced Mercedes into selling him the pub when she was under pressure to clear her husband Sylver's debt.
Thursday's (September 23) first-look episode on E4 continued the story as the McQueens were in crisis over the revelation that Bobby Costello had been the one posing as Cher's mysterious friend 'Jade'.
"My little boy has been pretending to be a complete stranger, and your little girl has been on self-destruct. This isn't a happy, healthy family, Sylver," Mercedes admitted.
Mercy decided that the best thing to do was take Bobby away to her mum's for a while to get him professional help, since Bobby admitted he'd trolled Cher after discovering her plot against Mercedes.
Before leaving for Alicante, Mercedes explained to Nana, Goldie and Theresa that she'd sold the pub, but Fergus had agreed to let them stay there while running it.
Bobby and Cher also surprised Mercedes and Sylver with a special party to convince them they "belong together", with Cher encouraging Sylver to go with Mercedes because Bobby needed his dad.
"Me and Bobby are going to start again, going to be a proper brother and sister to each other," Cher promised.
Mercedes and Sylver soon left the village with Bobby, and Fergus assured the other McQueens that "as long as they kept the pennies rolling in" he'd be a "happy camper".
A suspicious Trish then questioned Fergus on why he didn't tell the McQueens he was selling the pub.
"Did you hear me tell them I wasn't?" Fergus asked her. "The Dog is being sold, with or without the McQueens."
Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
