Hollyoaks' Mandy Richardson sets blackmail trap for Ollie Morgan

From Digital Spy

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Mandy Richardson has set a trap to blackmail her ex Luke Morgan over his son Ollie in Hollyoaks.

In Monday's first-look episode, Luke (Gary Lucy) confronted Mandy (Sarah Jayne Dunn) over the way she was trying to cover up Ella's (Erin Palmer) involvement in Jordan Price's stabbing death on New Year's Eve.

"It's difficult to see, but telling the truth is going to be the best thing for Ella in the long run," Luke insisted, before warning that he was going to the police station that afternoon with or without Ella.

Mandy finally promised she'd tell Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson) when he got home, but the events of the day turned out very differently.

When Darren got back, Mandy kept her secret hidden because he tried to make her feel better about Ella by saying the only person to blame for Jordan's death was Jordan himself.

Luke was next off to give his son Ollie (Gabriel Clark) some words of encouragement before his Narcotics Anonymous meeting, but any inspiration Ollie felt was crushed when Imran (Ijaz Rana) turned up to take Brooke (Talia Grant) on a date.

Ollie continued his downward spiral later at The Dog, where he stole some tip money — seemingly to buy more drugs — when he thought nobody was watching him.

But, unfortunately for Ollie, he was actually being watched at that very moment by Mandy and Cindy. While Cindy went off after Ollie, Mandy texted him for a private meeting.

Mandy then laid a trap for Ollie by leaving her wallet out on the table as she went to get a drink, then watched as he pilfered the cash and ran away.

Later, she called Luke over to the house to insist Ella wouldn't be taking the fall for Jordan's murder after all.

"Charlie groomed her, just like he was groomed by the people above," she argued. "Neither of them deserve to be in that place, but Ella is the only truly innocent party in this."

Luke countered that Ella isn't innocent since she's the one who killed Jordan, telling Mandy that "it isn't right" for her to ask him to keep the secret.

Mandy threatened that she was prepared to tip off the police over Ollie stealing from her purse, warning: "I would do anything to protect my daughter! Threaten Ella again and I won't hesitate to have Ollie arrested."

Will Luke back down?

Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
