Hollyoaks' Sally St Claire arrested after betrayal

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Sally St Claire has been arrested after being betrayed by PC Smith in Hollyoaks.

Her latest attempt to free John Paul from prison has seen Sally aligning herself with PC Smith, after confessing she was the one who killed George.

In Thursday's (June 17) first-look episode on E4, Sally spoke with John Paul in prison to assure him she'd put a stop to any plans to get him out of jail.

However, she had produced a vile of her blood to turn over to PC Smith as evidence, as he promised to free John Paul in order to put the truly guilty party behind bars.

"We'll come for you tomorrow," PC Smith told her.

Theresa had found out Sally was working with PC Smith, and thus warned her he couldn't be trusted. Sally pressed on with her plot regardless, assuring the family she had everything under control.

When the time came for the police to arrest her and free John Paul, PC Smith showed up instead to reveal he'd been setting up Sally all along.

"You're not swapping places with John Paul, you're joining him," PC Smith revealed. "Your son was abusing George, and you two conspired to murder him. He was a good man, and the two of you took his life!"

When Theresa tried to interject, PC Smith warned her she could be next as he arrested Sally on suspicion of aiding and abetting John Paul in George's murder.
