Yahoo Finance Hollyoaks star teases Cher's future as she's finally caught out

Hollyoaks star Bethannie Hare has suggested that Cher Winters' story could take a dangerous turn as her manipulation of her step-mum Mercedes McQueen is finally uncovered.
Cher (Hare) has held a grudge against Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) for some time now and, desperate to get her dad Sylver McQueen (David Tag) to herself, embarked on a nasty campaign to make Mercedes question her own mental health.
After a stint in rehab, Mercy is coming home to the village and she's set to finally discover the truth about her apparent kidnap of baby Eva Hutchinson, after Peri Lomax (Ruby O'Donnell) reveals that it was Cher who took Eva.

Furious Mercy will confront Cher about what she's doing to her, with Cher potentially in line to be in some serious trouble with the McQueens, and actress Bethannie has told Inside Soap that her character will be devastated if she loses her new-found family.
"It's heartbreaking for Cher, as she knows she's about to lose her whole family. It's the worst moment of her life," she said, adding that Cher is "so upset" by the possibility of losing her dad.
"The reason behind all of this is that she wanted her dad back. Cher got carried away with the lies and it all got so much darker than she thought it would," she said.
"She thinks she can confide in Romeo (Nightingale, Cher's boyfriend, played by Owen Warner), but his head isn't in the right space – he likes Mercedes anyway! The secret about their fling is sure to come out, and it could send Cher on a downward spiral."

If Cher's mental health continues to suffer, Bethannie expects that the situation could "definitely" become dangerous.
"Cher is very impulsive, she's struggling with her mental health," she explained. "She's so lonely and things are all piling up for her."
Bethannie recently spoke about how Cher could react to discovering that Romeo had a fling with Mercedes, explaining that this would compound Cher's insecurities.
"Cher thinks Romeo's amazing, and she can't believe he actually likes her," she said. "So when it comes out, she'll have lost the person she loves the most to her stepmum, who Cher's extremely jealous of. Cher will probably feel as if she'll never be good enough."
Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
