Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Ste Hay has approached Ollie Morgan with a shock undercover plan to avenge Sid Sumner's death in Hollyoaks.

The teen betrayed Sid to Victor in the events leading up to the County Lines drugs boss killing Sid (or, at least we think?) just as he was about to turn crucial evidence over to the police.

Thursday's first-look episode (March 4) picked up with Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) letting himself into James Nightingale's (Gregory Finnegan) flat in his bid for revenge, since he blamed James for Sid's death.

Ste was shocked to see Ollie getting out of the shower, and assumed the lawyer had seduced the drug-addicted student. He charged over to Luke's to reveal the fling – alleging that James may have paid Ollie for sex.

However, James was actually sitting in Luke's living room and explained that he'd actually come to explain that Ollie had broken into his house because he was "desperate for drug money".

Ste backed down as James explained that he'd sent Ollie to The Hutch to wait for his father. With James in toe, Luke angrily confronted his son over going so far as attempted burglary.

"It was desperate. Things have escalated and I can't get out of this hole I'm in," Ollie tearfully explained. "I need help dad. I hate myself more than anyone else could. Bad stuff's happened. Really bad things.

"I've messed up with a dealer, and Sid's dead because of me."

Instead of taking up James' offer to get professional help, Luke angrily banned Ollie from coming home until he'd "sorted himself out".

An emotional memorial service for Sid was taking place in The Folly as Ollie aimlessly wandered back into the village. Just as Ollie got physically sick, Victor emerged from the shadows with a proposition.

"It's not a cash transaction but I do need something in return," Victor warned. "Sad as I am to lose Sid, I still need someone who knows the area."

Victor encouraged Ollie to "prove himself" by keeping the drugs flowing through the village. The two didn't realise that Ste had been watching them from the other side of the block.

After striking out with his pitch for James to help take down Victor, Ste approached Ollie to explain why he should agree to become a dealer for the County Lines.

"I know you feel bad about Sid, or you wouldn't have shown up before [to the memorial]," Ste explained. "We all feel the same. So, give up the ket and do what he couldn't manage: work with Victor and incriminate him enough that it all comes crashing down around his head."

When Ollie admitted he didn't think he could do it, Ste insisted: "Yeah, you can. You can, and you will."

Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
