Here’s a more hygenic alternative to jumping in a ball pit during a pandemic: Sit on an easily wipeable chair made of ball pit balls instead! Large lounge chairs made of colorful ball pit balls have popped up at HomeGoods, and they look super entertaining to sit on.

Instagrammer @movemountainsinkindergarten tried out the fun chairs at a HomeGoods and shared on her account. “These are the coolest/most fun chairs ever and so badly wanted one for my classroom!!” the kindergarten teacher wrote in the caption of her post. “Don’t worry though this girl didn’t pay $299 per chair.... but I definitely had to sit in them and take a picture.”

Yes, the chair actually costs $299.99. It features a clear lining and is stuffed with ball pit balls. It must be a pretty sturdy lining for that price! In the comments, people suggested it would be much cheaper to attempt a ball pit chair DIY. You could buy clear inflatable chairs or use pool floats, cut a hole in them, insert the balls, and then patch up the hole. If you’re willing to put in the effort, why not give it a shot? If not—and you've got the budget—hit up HomeGoods.

The real question here is: Can you take the ball pit balls out of the chair? If so, it could double as a portable ball pit situation. All you’d need is a plastic kiddie pool to load them in. You could also replace them with other objects, like any old t-shirts you can’t bear to part with. In any case, the ball pit chair is a fun concept and thrilling to look at.
