Dunelm Black Friday: the deals we're hoping for in 2020

From Good Housekeeping

If you're more interested in getting your home Pinterest-perfect than investing in dresses and shoes, then you'll probably be hoping for a Dunelm Black Friday sale 2020. The retailer is well known for its really well-priced selection of soft furnishings, lamps and furniture that's always on trend. (Hello, this sellout £10 bath bridge).

We know the mega sales weekend gives you a perfect opportunity to stock up on Christmas presents, but you should also consider it a good time to invest in those pricier home essentials like furniture pieces – as there are often hefty discounts available on sofas and beds, among other bigger investments. It's also a tempting time to add some little touches to your living room without having to spend a fortune, like adding a cute new lampshade or a few fluffy cushions to your sofa.

So far, there's no word on whether Dunelm will be offering any discounts over the shopping weekend, but we'll keep you posted. Bookmark this page and check back in November to see if anything's changed.

What is Black Friday?

Black Friday is a weekend of sales starting on 29 November and continuing through until Monday 2 December – otherwise known as Cyber Monday. Some generous retailers can keep their sale going for up to two weeks, though, so you can spend a little more time mulling over those larger purchases. Also keep an eye out in the days before 2 December, as some stores like to jump the gun, or offer special codes to those on their email lists giving them access before everyone else.

While Black Friday originated in America to mark the start of the Thanksgiving rush, it’s since taken off in the UK too, after Amazon held the first Black Friday sale in 2010 for us Brits.

We’re clearly a nation of bargain-hunters, as the popularity of the weekend has grown ever since, with more and more retailers taking part – often running huge sales with up to 50% off. We’re only expecting it to gain more traction in the future.

When is Black Friday 2020?

This year, Black Friday starts on Friday, 27 November. Most retailers do start discounting their products earlier though, so stay alert throughout November to find the best deals if you've got your eye on something in particular.

Is there a Dunelm Black Friday sale?

If you check the Dunelm Black Friday page, there's no word on any discounts (yet). While there wasn't a sale last year, we're hoping 2020 might be different. We’ll keep you updated as we know more.

What should I look out for in the Dunelm Black Friday sale?

With any sale, we recommend trying to keep a cool head and making purchases you know you’ll love and will suit your home decor rather than being taken in by the largest discounts – that’s how to get the best value from these sales.

What else can I get in the Black Friday sales?

Last year, we found some great deals on sofas, toys, beds and mattresses and hair tools – and the GHI's best electric toothbrush had the price slashed by over £220! Emma Bridgewater pottery was also discounted by up to 40% and John Lewis and Very ran huge sales as well.
