What's better than a hot cross bun?

Slathering a hot cross bun in hot cross bun flavoured spread, that's what.

If you think that sounds like a joke, it isn't, as Oliver Bonas has just started selling Spreadable Hot Cross Bun Conserve.

Infused with apples, oranges and sultanas, this Easter classic has been liberated from its bun form into a spreadable version - and if you think it sounds indulgent, it is.

It's an easy way to upgrade your morning toast or a quirky addition for the middle of a Victoria sponge cake in lieu of the strawberry jam.

We've also been enjoying spreading it on digestive biscuits, croissants and basically pretty much anything we can get our hands (and our knife) on.

As well as oranges, apples and sultanas, the conserve also includes raisins, honey and gorgeously caramelised soft dark brown sugar.

We're thinking it's a brilliant idea for Easter if you can't bring yourself to make hot cross buns, or you don't trust yourself with a full packet at home.

But it's also sure to be a crowd-pleaser when you can have guests to stay again.

There's also a Spreadable Whisky Single Malt Marmalade and a Spreadable Gin & Tonic Marmalade. The alcohol is cooked off, so it tastes great on your morning toast, or even better in a cucumber sandwich.
