Ordinary-looking three-bedroom house comes with a hidden skate park inside

As kids we’d often imagine the fun, child-friendly features our future home might contain - a slide down from the bedroom, a trampoline in the living room, rollercoaster in the garden...

One house currently for sale is sure to appeal to anyone who hasn’t yet given up on owning their childhood house of dreams, as it comes complete with its very own indoor skate park.

From the outside, this house looks much like any other, but inside is a whole different story, with a massive skate park on the ground floor.

At a guide price of £240,000, the three-bedroom semi-detached house in the village of Terrington St Clement, is a must-see for any skateboard enthusiasts.

But skate park aside, the 19th century house is still pretty Insta-worthy with its brick features, hardwood floors and quaint cottage beams.

Currently advertised on Rightmove, the property’s particulars explain that the house in question, called St Clements Hall, actually used to be a youth hall.

The house features an open-plan living space with wood burner, a bedroom and a shower room with underfloor heating and floor tiles reclaimed from the public records library in London.

But, let’s face it, the real pull of the property is the full-sized skate park.

It has plenty of features seasoned skaters will appreciate, including a four-metre vert wall, three 4ft quarter pipes and of course, the bowl.

It’s little wonder, therefore, that house-come-skate-park is currently owned by keen skateboarder Rob Marsden.

According to ES Homes and Property he has owned the building for the past 17 years and built the 26ft by 39ft wooden skate bowl over six months.

Interestingly, Marsden says he hadn’t intended to use the entire space for skateboarding but the ramps “just took over the room”.

If the idea of having your own skate park hasn’t sold you on the house, the description of the property might.

“ATTIK are delighted to present St Clements Hall, a former youth hall and now... Bowl House, yep, a house complete with a skate bowl, 4m vert wall, mini skate park with three 4ft quarter pipes, three bedrooms, a very spacious open plan living area, private courtyard garden and secure gated parking for several cars,” it reads.

Interestingly the current owner first put the property up for sale four years ago, but then decided he wasn’t quite ready to leave his in-built skate park.

“He thought he was ready to leave the bowl and he wasn’t,” Kate Mamo-Lewis, managing director of Attik, who is selling the property, told ES Homes and Property.

The house was then featured on Netflix show Amazing Interiors in 2018 and it’s now back on the market.

Unsurprisingly the house has received a whole host of interest from those seeking something a little bit different from their next property: “Next time I value a skate bowl I’ll be adding a couple of noughts on to the price,” Mamo-Lewis adds.

So if you are looking for somewhere to practice your bubble flip (are you impressed with our skater knowledge?) this could well be the home for you.

The house is for sale for £240,000 through Attik Estate Agents.
