The recent tragic outbreak of a deadly Coronavirus has claimed many lives in 2020, and counting. This dangerous virus is spread through contact with bodily fluids, such as that of an infected person's nose or mouth. It can also be transmitted via coughing or sneeze, and even through breathing the same air as an infected person.

The virus is highly contagious and can easily be contracted through touch, air, and other means. Moreover, while travelling, you should be well-prepared and extra-cautious against catching this deadly infection.

So be a smart traveller by following these ways:

  • The first thing to consider is your current travel options, both commercial and non-commercial. Depending on the destination, you may find that there are limited or no choices in seating. Non-commercial travel options include buses, subways, and taxis. In the case of a subway or a bus, you'll likely want to check with the bus company to see which routes they offer, along with the safety measures.

  • The most important thing to do during this period is to stay informed. Don't assume that just because you've seen a friend or family member getting the virus that you are safe. Getting tested is crucial to determine if you are indeed at risk.

  • One of the best travel options for travelling smart during the current outbreak is to visit an accredited healthcare facility. It's essential to ask for assistance in the form of a phone call.

  • Have your itinerary ready ahead of time, so you don't have to rush through finding a place to stay.

  • Be aware of the countries in which the pandemic is currently active and review your itinerary to see what transportation options may be best for you.

  • Use an accredited medical travel company to transport you during the pandemic. They often have staff members specially trained to deal with contagious patients. Being close to a medical staff member who can quickly identify symptoms can make the difference between life and death. They may even offer transportation to your destination within the city or into the quarantine area.
