Idris Elba faces plane attack in first trailer for new Apple drama Hijack
Apple TV+ has released a trailer for its new drama thriller series Hijack, starring Luther's Idris Elba.
In the tense new look, we see Elba's character Sam Nelson, an accomplished businessman and expert negotiator, in a race to save his life and the lives of his fellow passengers after their flight is hijacked by terrorists.
Told in real time, the seven-hour flight to London sees everyone onboard forced to adapt to the circumstances of the hijacking. Meanwhile, authorities on the ground scramble to understand what has happened.
Back home, Sam is able to get a message about the hostage situation to his family, who alert the authorities. They explain that, due to his job, Sam is their best hope at handling a negotiation.

"Let me make you an offer," Sam says in one clip while held at gunpoint, explaining that his sole motive is to get home and reunite with his family.
Later on, we see the situation on the plane begin to deteriorate, forcing Sam to devise a backup strategy.
"If it's all going wrong in the first hour, imagine the next six. We need to get a message to the whole plane," he says in another clip. We watch as a bottle with the words "get ready to shake things up" written on it is passed around. Multiple passengers can also be seen preparing makeshift weapons.
As this is playing out in the air, down on the ground, counter-terrorism officer Zahra Gahfoor (Archie Panjabi) learns more about the group they're dealing with: They're part of a larger terrorist network.
Alongside Elba and Gahfoor, the series also stars Christine Adams, Max Beesley, Eve Myles and Neil Maskell. Jasper Britton, Harry Michell, Aimee Kelly, Mohamed Elsandel and Ben Miles round out the cast.
Elba has also executive produced the series, working alongside creator George Kay (Lupin) and director Jim Field Smith (The Wrong Mans).
Hijack will premiere on Apple TV+ on June 28.
