IKEA launches beautiful new collection for Ramadan
Celebrating Ramadan? IKEA has launched a beautiful new homeware range just in time for the month of fasting (22nd March - 21st April 2023).
The GOKVÄLLÅ collection, designed to help you enjoy the Ramadan festivities, includes decorative linens in pastel blue, gold and silver tones, eye-catching throws for cosying up, lanterns, tea lights, and a decorative teapot and matching kava cups inspired by the Blue Mosque in Istanbul.
During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims fast every day from dawn until sunset, and then gather with loved ones for iftar (also known as ftoor) to break their fast in the evening. Once the month has been completed, families celebrate with a three-day festival called Eid al-Fitr, or the Festival of the Breaking of the Fast. A time of spiritual reflection and self-improvement, it's the most sacred month of the year in Islamic culture.
Other highlights from IKEA's collection include lunar-themed decorations, such as the LED chain lights to brighten evening dinners, and serving bowls and trays to bring out delicious meals. There's also a practical floor cushion (£15), perfect for families to get comfortable as they gather round and break the fast at Iftar.
IKEA say: 'After fasting all day, watch the sun go down and gather around with loved ones to enjoy a delicious meal together. Allow the food to take centre stage and serve up a feast in the detailed GOKVÄLLÅ serving bowls and trays. Specially designed for the occasion, they're also easy to match with tableware you already have at home.'
The GOKVÄLLÅ collection is available to buy online and in IKEA stores across the UK, while stocks last.
