Income effect
The effect that a change in the price of goods or services has on consumers’ real income. As prices decrease, consumers can buy the same quantity of goods or services as before but they will have more income left over at the end. Some of this money will be spent on buying more goods although the exact extent to which consumers will spend instead of save depends on the individual. The total quantity of goods bought nevertheless rises.
