India's Axis Bank re-appoints Amitabh Chaudhry as MD, CEO

Axis bank CEO, Amitabh Chaudhry reacts during a Meta conference in Mumbai

BENGALURU (Reuters) - India's Axis Bank has re-appointed Amitabh Chaudhry as its chief executive officer and managing director, the private lender said on Thursday.

Chaudhry, who joined Axis Bank as its MD and CEO in January 2019, has been re-appointed for three years, effective January 1, 2025.

The decision is subject to approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the lender said.

Axis Bank beat fourth-quarter profit estimates on Wednesday, propelled by strong loan growth and higher lending income.
