Zane Marshall (@zaneos), a marketing agency owner, told TikTok about an influencer who canceled a $30,000 shoot because she said she had a headache when she actually had a hangover, and TikTokers are in disbelief.
When running a business, there are bound to be some hiccups. Sometimes those hiccups are small, and sometimes they cost $30,000. Marshall can relate to these occupational hassles. Recently, the agency owner posted a video describing a particularly aggravating day at the office when an influencer canceled a $30,000 job at the last minute because she said she had a headache, which Marshall later found out was a hangover, and viewers could not believe the audacity.
The clip opens with a shot of Marshall addressing the camera from the front seat of his car.
Marshall breaks down the chaotic workday, explaining that the entire team was on set, ready to get the shoot started for an unnamed influencer, who according to Marshall, just needed to show up, “film as much content as humanly possible within six hours,” and then get paid $30,000.
However, “an hour before showtime,” the influencer called Marshall to tell him that she wouldn’t be able to make it because of a headache.
Understandably irritated, Marshall explains that he now has to talk to her manager and find a way to rectify the situation.
The ‘headache’ that was actually something else
“I know I sounded insensitive in my previous video,” Marshall mentions, acknowledging that there are legitimate health reasons why someone would cancel a video shoot.
Although, in this case, Marshall found out the influencer had gone out the previous night and “got absolutely smashed.” She was also traveling to the shoot from another state and missed her flight because she was so hung over.
Long story short, her manager booked another flight, but the influencer missed that one too because she was too sick, so they were forced to cancel the shoot.
Viewers took to the comments to commiserate with Marshall over the influencer’s unprofessional behavior.
“I’m sorry, but if I knew I had a $30k job to do the next morning, I just wouldn’t go out and party,” one user mentioned.
“That’s the first thing that crossed my mind when you said ‘headache.’ She partied the night before,” noted one TikToker.
“You were not too harsh. [She] was unprofessional,” one viewer affirmed.
Fortunately, Marshall shared an update in the comments. He let everyone know that despite the significant inconvenience, the production team was compensated for their time.
