AMSTERDAM (AP) _ ING Groep NV (ING) on Thursday reported net income of $902.1 million in its third quarter.

The bank, based in Amsterdam, said it had earnings of 23 cents per share.

The financial services provider posted revenue of $5.4 billion in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $5.4 billion, which topped Street forecasts.

ING shares have fallen 36 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 36 percent in the last 12 months.
