Insider Buys Additional US$68k In NewtekOne Stock

Whilst it may not be a huge deal, we thought it was good to see that the NewtekOne, Inc. (NASDAQ:NEWT) President, Barry Sloane, recently bought US$68k worth of stock, for US$12.99 per share. Nevertheless, it only increased their shareholding by a minuscule percentage, and it wasn't a massive purchase by absolute value, either.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At NewtekOne

The Independent Director Fernando Perez-Hickman made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for US$497k worth of shares at a price of US$12.28 each. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at around the current price of US$13.22. Of course they may have changed their mind. But this suggests they are optimistic. We do always like to see insider buying, but it is worth noting if those purchases were made at well below today's share price, as the discount to value may have narrowed with the rising price. The good news for NewtekOne share holders is that insiders were buying at near the current price.

Many investors like to check how much of a company is owned by insiders. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. Insiders own 6.1% of NewtekOne shares, worth about US$20m. While this is a strong but not outstanding level of insider ownership, it's enough to indicate some alignment between management and smaller shareholders.

So What Does This Data Suggest About NewtekOne Insiders?
