Introducing the world’s first mass-produced transparent television

Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition
Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition

The Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition is the world’s first mass-produced television that is entirely see-through.

Created by Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi, the transparent television boasts an exquisite 55-inch OLED self-luminous display that is clear from edge to edge, allowing it to transmit images that seem to be suspended in the air.

Unlike traditional LED TVs that come with a back panel, the Mi TV stores all of its processing units in its base stand, preserving the compact shape of the screen. It also comes equipped with a 120Hz refresh rate and 120Hz MEMC technology, providing consumers with a smoother and clearer watching experience, according to Xiaomi.

From a sheer design perspective, the television looks just like a decorative piece of glass until it is switched on, making it a gorgeous and discreet addition to any minimalistic home.

A promo of the TV drummed up quite the excitement on YouTube, with hundreds of users chiming in on the product’s innovative design.

“As usual Xiaomi products made me speechless,” one user wrote.

“I’m dying to see this in person with my two eyes,” said another.

“The future has arrived,” remarked another.

Unfortunately, buyers outside of China will have to wait to get their hands on the Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition — it is currently only available for purchase within the country for around $7,500 USD.
