Yahoo Finance IPL 2021: Aakash Chopra Predicts The Winner Of Mumbai Indians vs Kolkata Knight Riders Contest
Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has predicted the winner of the Mumbai Indians vs Kolkata Knight Riders contest. The two teams will face each other on September 23 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
In a video shared on Aakash Chopra’s Youtube Channel, the former cricketer analyzed both the teams. He stated that it feels that the Mumbai Indians sometimes, do not take every game seriously. Chopra said,
“Because the Mumbai Indians side is full of champions, they are sometimes guilty of actually not taking every game very very seriously. This time again, you will expect them to, if they get an opportunity by the scruff of their neck, then don’t let them get away with it. You have to beat them.”
Aakash Chopra also opined that Rohit Sharma should come back into the team in place of Anmolpreet Singh, and Hardik Pandya in place of Saurabh Tiwary. He also highlighted Suryakumar Yadav’s inconsistent run this IPL season. Aakash Chopra said,
“Suryakumar Yadav has not had a great season. In terms of the first phase, and now the second. He needs to score runs because he is a vital player in the team.”
Rohit Sharma has an impressive record against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Aakash Chopra feels he can be a match-winner for the Mumbai Indians, in the contest in Abu Dhabi. He stated,
“Rohit Sharma plays very differently against Kolkata Knight Riders. You can expect from him, that if he plays, he is going to be a game-changer.”
Mumbai Has The Upper Hand: Aakash Chopra
The former India cricketer opined that the Kolkata Knight Riders should continue with the same playing XI as their first match. He also said that he is looking forward to the contest between Trent Boult and Venkatesh Iyer. Aakash stated
“Kolkata Knight Riders does not have to do anything different from the last match. Venkatesh Iyer did brilliantly in his first game. I think the contest between him and Trent Boult will be worth watching because Ventakesh likes to play on the up and through the line. Trent Boult has the swing, which becomes even better against the left-handers.”
“I am picking Mumbai Indians once again. In the rivalry between the two teams, Mumbai has had an upper hand,” said Aakash Chopra while picking his winner for the contest.
