Rishabh Pant, who has been retained as the skipper of Delhi Capitals for the second half is itching to get onto the field. They resume their campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad on September 22 in Dubai. They are placed at the top of the table with six wins from eight games. Shreyas Iyer is also back in the squad but the management has decided to carry on with Pant as the skipper.
Meanwhile, in a video posted by the Delhi Capitals Twitter handle, Rishabh Pant spoke about Delhi’s chances of winning the title this year. Since 2018, the side has been consistently making the playoffs.
‘’Our ultimate goal is to win the trophy, but we are going to focus on our process. Hopefully, we can continue to play the way we did in the first half of the IPL 2021 season and we can go on and win the IPL trophy this year,’’
Rishabh Pant also opened up on his mandatory quarantine period. He is just out of the quarantine and joined the teammates for a practice session.

“I am feeling really good especially after coming out of the quarantine, it’s nice because you know nowadays, it’s getting difficult to quarantine but it’s good to see new faces, love to meet the teammates.”
Delhi Capitals coach Ricky Ponting also joined the franchise a few days ago ahead of the UAE leg. Ponting spoke about his plans with the franchise for the remaining season.
