Yahoo Finance IPL 2021 Watch : Victory Scenes In KKR Dressing Room After Beating RCB
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) thumped Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by nine wickets in the first match of the UAE leg of IPL 2021. Their victory was set up by their bowlers and completed by their openers. In the process, KKR moved upto the fifth position in the points table.
Meanwhile, the mood in the KKR camp was joyous after the side earned a much-deserved victory. Coach Brendon McCullum was highly impressed with his side’s victory and noted the contributions of key players in the game.
Brendon McCullum Lauds KKR Players After RCB Win
“Outstanding performance from each and everyone. Every team has big players in it, right? If we get the mentality that we’re going to take them down, look what can happen. AB de Villiers, Glenn Maxwell, Virat Kohli, we dominated these guys today. Look them in the eye and say, ‘we’ll take you on” McCullum said.
All the KKR players went upto to Andre Russell and Venkatesh Iyer to appreciate their efforts. The squad also applauded Varun Chakravarthy for his magical spell of bowling.
KKR skipper also had a light-hearted conversation with his KKR teammates. He applauded the efforts of the players and said ”
“Boys, just one thing for me. I thought you were outstanding today. Absolutely brilliant, the bowlers set everything up. This ground suits us as a team, particularly our bowling. So, if we turn up, do our basics well and trust what we do works well here, then we’re gonna be hard to beat” Morgan said.
Shubman Gill Opened With Venkatesh Iyer
Shubman Gill found a new opening partner in Venkatesh Iyer and together they added an 82-run opening stand. Gill scored 48 while Iyer finished unbeaten on 41.
KKR’s next two matches are against Mumbai Indians (September 23) and Chennai Super Kings (September 26). Both the matches will be played in Abu Dhabi.
