Ireland's Dalata Hotels expands into continental Europe

DUBLIN (Reuters) - Ireland's largest hotel operator, Dalata Hotel Group, has expanded into continental Europe for the first time after announcing it had agreed to operate the leasehold interest in a new four-star hotel in Düsseldorf on Tuesday.

Dalata, which operates 45 hotels under the Maldron Hotel and Clayton Hotel brands in Ireland and the United Kingdom, agreed the 20-year lease with Art-Invest Real Estate, one of the largest hotel developers in Germany.

The Dublin-based group said it is looking to build its presence in selected European cities while also continuing to grow in the UK, where it is developing 7 new hotels.
