Irish property price growth rebounds to 4-month high in July
DUBLIN, Aug 26 (Reuters) - Irish residential property prices grew at their fastest pace in four months in July, climbing 0.9 percent on a monthly basis, although the annual growth rate continued to slow, data showed on Wednesday.
While prices across Ireland (Other OTC: IRLD - news) are 36.9 percent below their 2007 peak, the central bank introduced restrictions on mortgage lending in January to try to ensure price rises do not return to unsustainable levels amid a shortage in housing supply.
The annual rate of growth in property prices slipped for the fourth month in a row, posting growth of 9.4 percent in the 12 months to July compared to annual growth of 10.7 percent the previous month, the central statistics office said. (Reporting by Conor Humphries; Editing by Mark Heinrich)
