Irish unemployment steady at 7.8 percent in June

DUBLIN, July 5 (Reuters) - Ireland (Other OTC: IRLD - news) 's unemployment rate remained unchanged month-on-month at 7.8 percent in June but was down significantly from 9.4 percent a year ago, the central statistics office said on Tuesday.

Ireland's economy has grown faster than any other in Europe for the past two years, strongly increasing employment from a high in the jobless rate of 15.1 percent in early 2012 when Ireland was midway through a three-year international bailout.
