Italy economy minister says issue of vetoes on EU Recovery Fund will be resolved
ROME (Reuters) - The issue of vetoes being slapped on the European Union's Recovery Fund will be resolved, Italy's Economy Minister Roberto Gualtieri said on Friday.
"I hope the EU summit in December will overcome the positions of Poland and Hungary," Gualtieri said speaking on Italian TV.
The minister also said EU treaties did not allow for the cancellation of COVID-related debt held by the European Central Bank (ECB) which instead had to be reduced through responsible policies and investments to spur growth.
