Jacqueline Jossa has spoken about her frustration at being labelled “plus sized”.

The I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here winner spoke recently about being confused why her size “has to be addressed”.

Jossa, who rose to fame thanks to her role as Lauren Branning on EastEnders, addressed the issue while appearing on Lorraine on Friday (20 November).

She told host Lorraine Kelly: "It’s a weird one, isn’t it? I am not really offended by plus size, I just don’t really know why it has to be addressed.

"I just think it’s not really fair for people who are a size 14, 16, 18, living their best lives, that they start then comparing to a size 12 body thinking, ‘but if that’s plus size then what am I?’

"It’s just so ridiculous. Two different size 12s could be a massive difference in actual weight, different in height...It just doesn’t mean anything.”

Jossa posts regularly about her body image on social media.

She addressed being labelled plus sized on Instagram last month, telling her 3 million followers: "Yesterday I got quite a few DMs of people saying to me, 'You're not plus-sized, why do you call yourself plus-sized. I'm much bigger than you, how do you think that makes me feel?'

"Understood. I don't call myself plus-size. I'm not plus-size. I'm like, size 12."

She also said on her Instagram Story: “I just want to quickly say something that's been annoying me for a little while.

"When I do an interview at the moment all that people bring up is like you're such an inspiration for the bigger girl, you are real… and I'm absolutely happy for that, love it, no problem at all.

"But it's kind of insulting because they're like, 'How do you stay so positive, body confident and look like that?' is basically what they are saying to me.

"It’s like, nooooo, you can't say that!"

Since leaving EastEnders in 2018, Jossa has managed to stay in the limelight thanks to her stint on I’m A Celeb and her strong social media following.

However, she was thrilled last month when she announced she has landing a role on the West End.

She said: "I am so excited to be joining the WEST END cast of @LondonXmasCarol this Christmas! I will be playing Emily in this brand-new, musical staged concert of Dicken’s classic - A Christmas Carol, from 7th December this year!

"With live music from the incredible @thelmto and a wonderful cast including @realbrianconley and @mattjwillis this is the 2020 event that will unite friends, families and loved ones with the magic of live entertainment, the perfect post-lockdown treat!"
