Jake Gyllenhaal tapped to star in Prada fragrance campaign

Jake Gyllenhaal has been tapped to front the campaign for Prada’s Luna Rossa OCEAN fragrance.

The Nightcrawler actor was recently named as a brand ambassador for the perfume arm of the Italian fashion house, and on Tuesday, his debut advertising imagery was released.

Directed by Johan Renck, the video depicts Gyllenhaal at the helm of a yacht, and speeding across the ocean, before standing still on the deck in front of a glowing red moon.

“Set under the sails of the Luna Rossa boat, a masterpiece of cutting-edge technology, Gyllenhaal embodies the modern adventurer combining physical and intellectual strength, and pushing beyond his limits at full speed,” a Prada spokesperson explained.

The Prada Luna Rossa OCEAN fragrance was formulated by master perfumers Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaim, and features top notes of bergamot, pink pepper, and artemisia.

"Prada Luna Rossa OCEAN embodies a sophisticated, yet avant-garde approach to the modern fragrance for men. We are incredibly excited for the launch of this new fragrance inspired by the power of man meeting the power of innovation,” added Yann Andrea, international general manager at Prada Beauty.
