Japan econmin Ishihara - Yen gains due to safe-haven flows

TOKYO (Reuters) - Japanese Economy Minister Nobuteru Ishihara said on Tuesday the yen has been gaining recently because investors consider it to be a relatively safe asset amid growing concern about the outlook for oil prices and emerging markets.

Ishihara, speaking to reporters, said that he wanted to watch financial markets closely and that he saw no change to the trend in Japan's economic recovery.
