Jennifer Aniston has hit back at claims that she 'chose her career over kids' in a new interview where she spoke about people who have commented on or made assumptions about her life without knowing the full story first.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Jennifer opened up candidly about everything from the Friends reunion, to her private life and how she has no regrets.

In conversation with the publication for their cover story, the 52-year-old star spoke about what it's like to live life in the limelight.

She explained that when you're in the public eye as much as she is, 'you disappear as much as you can, you have fun, you take on these weird roles, you don’t give a sh*t,' - touching on why it's important to have a good group of friends and to always do the best that you can.

'I used to take it all very personally,' Jennifer told the publication of the pregnancy rumours, 'and the whole "Oh, she chose career over kids" assumption. It’s like, "You have no clue what’s going with me personally, medically, why I can’t … can I have kids?" They don’t know anything, and it was really hurtful and just nasty."

Jennifer previously opened up on her decision to not have children, when she wrote for Huffington Post in 2016.

"The sheer amount of resources being spent right now by press trying to simply uncover whether or not I am pregnant (for the bajillionth time... but who's counting) points to the perpetuation of this notion that women are somehow incomplete, unsuccessful, or unhappy if they're not married with children," she wrote.

"We get to decide for ourselves what is beautiful when it comes to our bodies. That decision is ours and ours alone. Let's make that decision for ourselves and for the young women in this world who look to us as examples."

She added, "We don't need to be married or mothers to be complete. We get to determine our own "happily ever after" for ourselves.'
