Jesse Eisenberg, Adrien Brody, and Riley Keough Join Cannes Market Title ‘Manodrome’

Jesse Eisenberg, Adrien Brody, and Riley Keough have been cast in director John Trengrove’s English-language feature debut “Manodrome.”

Launching sales at the virtual Cannes market, the South African director of “The Wound” presents a nihilistic thriller following Ralphie (Eisenberg), an Uber driver and aspiring bodybuilder who is inducted into a libertarian masculinity cult and loses his grip on reality when his repressed desires are awakened.

Keough, Gina Gammell, and Ryan Zacarias are producing the project via Felix Culpa, with Ben Giladi’s Rainmaker Entertainment. CAA Media Finance has arranged financing and will sell the film’s domestic rights.

An Oscar nominee for “The Social Network,” Eisenberg’s credits include the “Now You See Me” franchise and “Zombieland.” He’ll next present his directorial debut “When You Finish Saving the World” with A24, starring Julianne Moore. He is represented by CAA and Felker, Toczek, Gellman, Suddleson.

Brody, a Best Actor Oscar winner for “The Pianist,” will next be seen in the Cannes player “The French Dispatch” from director Wes Anderson. He’s also got Andrew Dominik’s Netflix project “Blonde,” the Stephen King adaptation “Chapelwaite,” and appears on the third season of HBO’s “Succession.” Brody is represented by CAA.

Keough hits the big screen imminently in A24’s “Zola,” followed by the Amazon original “Daisy Jones & The Six.” She is represented by CAA, Thirty Three Management, The Lede Company and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Kaller & Gellman.

Trengove’s “The Wound” was an Oscar shortlist title and screened at numerous festivals, including Sundance where it was featured in the world cinema dramatic competition. He is represented by CAA and Independent Talent Group.
