Jillian Harris and Joe Fresh are bringing back the Jilly Jacket, and it’s more fun than ever. Following a successful collaboration last fall between the former Bachelorette and the Canadian retailer, version 2.0 of the Jilly Jacket is coming soon.
Announced today, Harris revealed that the updated version of last year’s millennial pink puffer will soon be hitting stores. To make sure that you don’t miss out on the jacket (2019’s version sold out almost instantly), shoppers can sign up to be notified of the jacket’s release through a waitlist and be the first to know when it arrives on shelves.
The jacket, which is part of the brand’s Primaloft collection, is made using sustainable synthetic insulation and guarantees lightweight warmth and water resistance for comfort in any weather.
“I am thrilled to bring back an updated version of the Jilly Jacket and continue my partnership with Joe Fresh for a second consecutive year,” says Harris in a press release. “The new Jilly Jacket has all of the same qualities that customers loved from last year, updated with a stylish leopard print, longer length and 70% recycled fill for a sustainably focused future.”
In addition to the updated version for women, this year the Jilly Jacket also comes in a miniature size - perfect for mommy and me dressing.
We chatted with Harris about the new collection and to talk all things family and style, plus we got her top tips on her favourite ways to embrace the coming season.
Getting outdoors this fall
Cooler temperatures and scenic views make fall a great time to enjoy the great outdoors, something that Harris admits her family has been looking forward to.
“Our family has been loving camping this year - it's such a great way for the kids to get outside and burn off some energy so I think we will try to plan a couple more camping trips before the season is over,” she says.
Mom + me dressing made easy
Inspired by Harris’s love of matching outfits, creating a Mini Jilly Jacket was a no-brainer.
“I absolutely love Mom + Me dressing! In fact, I try to do this with my daughter, Annie as much as I can (before she outgrows this stage!). Since the launch of the Jilly Jacket was so successful last year, we wanted to bring something new this year that both moms and their little ones could enjoy! Also, is there anything cuter than a photo with matching outfits!? The mini jacket is gender neutral, [so] I would love to see both little girls and little boys rock it this fall!”
Leopard as a neutral
Compared to last year’s feminine pink shade, the leopard print of this year’s Jilly Jacket may be a bolder look than many women are used to wearing on a daily basis. According to Harris though, leopard print should be considered a neutral.
“I love the leopard print on The Jilly Jacket because it’s very subtle and easy to wear. Whether you love colour, or tend to shy away from it, I guarantee this jacket will fit really well into your existing wardrobe. I personally like to style the jacket with an oversized sweater underneath that has a pop of colour, such as a dusty red or blue,” Harris says.
As for styling tips?
“Pair that with a pair of distressed denim jeans and sneakers, and you’ve got the perfect outfit for fall!” she suggests. “The great thing about the Jilly Jacket is the fact that it's thin (but still super warm) and perfect for layering!”
Jillian’s fall wardrobe must-haves
The changing season often calls for a wardrobe update, and just a few key pieces are often enough to major impact.
“For me, the fall season is all about being cozy! I love a soft sweater that can be paired with jeans or leggings. One of my favourites is the Turtleneck Sweater from Joe Fresh. It comes in various colourways that are really beautiful for the fall,” she says.
“Another must-have item of mine is a great pair of boots that I can chase after the kids in! I love the Chelsea Boot from Joe Fresh. I own the leopard print pair, but it’s also available in solid colours as well. I think that a cute pair of shoes can really change the look of an outfit.”
