J.J. Watt has a big Thanksgiving highlight with sudden pick-six against Lions

The last time J.J. Watt played the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving, he was in his prime as the best defensive player in football. He had three sacks that day.

Watt might not be the best defensive player in the NFL anymore in his 30s, but he’s still very good and capable of some eye-popping plays.

Watt made a huge play in the first quarter against the Lions. He was rushing from Matthew Stafford’s left, realized wasn’t going to get there and stuck up his hands and plucked Stafford’s pass right out of the air at the line. Watt turned upfield and scored.

It hasn’t been a fun season for Watt, on a losing Texans team. He indicated he didn’t want to go through a rebuild in Houston. But it sure looked like he was enjoying himself on the way to the end zone on Thursday.
