The actor and author posted a photo on Instagram showing her being vaccinated at the weekend.
She wrote: “Delighted to get @astrazeneca @ouhospitals #vaccine yesterday morning at the @nhsenglandldn Bloomsbury surgery - thank you Mr. @rajgill2585 and @dr_ammarahughes for a painless and seamless procedure! Same day as our Queen! #honoured #registernow”
Collins, 87, also appeared on Good Morning Britain to speak to Piers Morgan about her views on the vaccination programme.
She said: “I really wanted to get it. It was a little scratch, there was no pain at all. I had no after-effects, I went home and had a little drink actually.
“If you get contacted by your GP, please do go.”
Collins added that she felt the best way out of the current lockdown, which she compared to a crash diet, was for as many people as possible to take up the vaccine.
She said: “I believe the only way we're going to get over this pandemic is for everyone to get vaccinated as soon as they can.
“This lockdown is like going on a crash diet, you lose all the weight and then you go back to normal eating and put the weight back on again.
“I'm no expert but I just feel these stringent lockdowns are not doing what they should do, so as far as I'm concerned, everybody go and get the vaccination.”
Talking about her own experiences of dealing with lockdown, Collins said she had drawn on her coping mechanisms from her wartime childhood.
She said: “I found it pretty difficult at first and then I decided I had to get myself into the head of how I was as a little tiny girl during the war.
“We didn't have television, we didn't have a lot of things, but what I did was a lot of reading, writing, painting, drawing. This is what I'm starting to do.
“I really don't like going for long walks when it's three degrees so I've been walking round our flat, I've worn out the carpet.”
The Dynasty star added that her plans post-pandemic included visiting her daughter and grandchildren, and going on holiday to the South of France, where she hoped to meet up with Morgan.
