Wandering around a marquee, stall or garden centre filled with real Christmas trees is a wonderful festive tradition. However, if you want to put your tree up before 2 December this year, or if you are avoiding leaving your home unless necessary, ordering online is your best option.
Which is where John Lewis & Partners comes in.
The department store is always one of our main go-tos for Christmas decorations, and this year it has upped the ante as it’s selling three different varieties of real Christmas trees online for delivery.
The Nordmann Fir, Fraser Fir, and the sumptuous Korean Fir are all available for pre-order now, ready to be delivered to your doorstep from 27 November.
John Lewis has every tree option available from 5ft to a whopping 8ft, with prices starting at £75.
We’ve explained the differences below so you can work out which is best for you with ease.
Now, all you need to do is find the perfect place to position your tree and then find the time to decorate it.

Fraser Fir Real Christmas Tree | £79 - £125
These 5ft-7ft Fraser Fir trees are grown on a rather inaccessible piece of land called Dyke Foot in the heart of Scotland.
Dyke Foot is an area at the top of a hill which is only accessible on foot or by tractor. This land has a unique composition, which makes it inhospitable for most plant life, but is ideal for the Fraser Fir.
Fraser Fir trees have good needle retention, soft needles and a fresh festive fragrance. They are also well suited to smaller rooms as they tend to be slimmer than some other varieties.
Korean Fir Real Christmas Tree | £79 - £99
Korean Fir trees are relatively rare in the UK with only a few small plantations dedicated to growing them. The needles are mid green, with a silvery underside, short and flattened and very soft to the touch.
They have a naturally slimmer shape that Nordmann Fir trees, and have to be grown slowly in order to maintain their full shape to the top.
They have a neat, pyramidal form with a straight stem and neat, symmetrical growth. They also have excellent needle retention.
Nordmann Fir Real Christmas Tree | £75 - £115
John Lewis’ Nordman fir trees (up to 8 feet) are grown on the edge of a small village located deep in the Scottish borders.
A dedicated team has perfected the art of nurturing the trees in their early years, before using a specialist hand pruning method to shape them into perfect specimens. Nordmann fir trees also have soft, slow-drop needles.
