Yahoo Finance John Stamos was "scared" of starring in new Disney show Big Shot
You star John Stamos has explained why he was "scared" of starring in new Disney+ show Big Shot.
Developed by iZombie's Dean Lorey and Big Little Lies' David E. Kelley, Big Shot centres on hot-headed basketball coach Marvyn Korn (Stamos), who finds his patience tested when he gets fired from his current job and winds up teaching at an elite girl's private high school.
"I remember getting a call from my managers and they were like, 'You're gonna get an offer on a David Kelley show' and I was like, 'Oh my god.'

"I've always loved him and have wanted to work with him forever," the actor told Digital Spy and other press ahead of the sports dramedy's premiere.
"So I said, 'Do I play a lawyer? Do I play one of those great gritty characters from Big Little Lies?' They said, 'No, it's a show about basketball.' I was like, 'Oh no!' I am the least athletic person on the planet. I don't play sports, I don't understand sports. I was a band geek in high school," Stamos laughed.
"I'm still a band geek, so that part of it was scary at first. Then I realised that I'd be playing a character, a coach, and so I dug into that. I had to pull off that coaching stuff early on to make the whole show work, and that was a big challenge for me to get into that mindset."

Stamos went on to say that he attended a Los Angeles Clippers practice game to get a feel for the atmosphere, and that he looked to his "stern" father for inspiration on how to play the role, too.
In Big Shot, which dropped on the streaming platform today (April 16), Stamos is joined on screen by Community's Yvette Nicole Brown, The Greatest Showman's Keala Settle and Glee's Jessalyn Gilsig.
