I'm A Celebrity's Jordan North screams through snake trial as he tries to think of 'happy place'

Watch: Jordan North screams through I’m A Celeb trial

I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!’s Jordan North repeatedly screamed “happy place” as he faced his fear of snakes in the latest trial of the series.

The 30-year-old Radio 1 DJ – who vomited at the top of a cliff during the launch show – joined actor Shane Richie, 56, in The Viper Vault on Monday night’s show and managed to win nine stars for the camp.

When told he would have to enter the vault with the snakes North initially broke down in tears and told hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, “I can’t do it.”

But Richie persuaded the radio presenter to give it a try and North entered the Viper Vault admitting, “I’ve never been this scared in my life.”

He screamed throughout the trial as he attempted to relay codes to Richie, and listen to the former EastEnders star give him his own instructions as they both opened safes to release the stars to win meals for the campers.

Afterwards North admitted: “It was horrific, it was absolutely horrific.

“My brother, who is a paratrooper said to me no matter how scared or cold you get to think of your happy place.”

His happy place was Turf Moor - the home stadium of his favourite football team Burnley FC.

Returning to the camp Richie told the other celebrities, “He went to pieces.”

But they were proud to announce they had won nine out of a possible 10 stars.

However the celebrities were all a little deflated when dinner was delivered: nine portions of eel.

North moaned: “I’ve just been in a pigging vault full of snakes and get home to my castle and I’ve got eel. Eating eel – fish snakes, not fish cakes.

“Nine stars for that! It was minging.”

Olympic athlete Sir Mo Farah, 37, told the Telegraph: “The taste of the eel was different, I’m not really a big fan of fish. I took a bite of it and it was slippery… eurgh.”

North has been voted for by the public to join Corrie star Beverley Callard and TV presenter Vernon Kay in Tuesday’s trial Frights of the Round Table.

The ITV reality show – usually filmed in the Australian jungle – is being filmed at Gwrych Castle in north Wales for this series with contestants including dancer AJ Pritchard, vlogger Giovanna Fletcher, journalist and broadcaster Victoria Derbyshire and soap actor Jessica Plummer.

I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! airs at 9pm on ITV1.
