Josh Allen's improvised first TD showed why he's nearly unstoppable by the goal line

It’s hard enough to have to worry about Josh Allen running the ball near the goal line. Other than Cam Newton, he might be the best goal-line quarterback we’ve seen.

But when he can adjust on what looked like a called run and push a touchdown pass ahead to an open tight end, how do you stop it?

Allen’s first touchdown on Saturday, the first touchdown of this postseason, was a fun one. The Buffalo Bills quarterback lined up in shotgun, and it seemed obvious from the empty backfield he would run it. Allen paused, tried to find a hole, and there was none.

Allen was about to be tackled when he saw tight end Dawson Knox in the end zone. Allen pushed the ball ahead — it’s hard to call it a pass — and it floated to Knox in the end zone. With that, the Bills took a 7-3 lead over the Indianapolis Colts.

Allen had a phenomenal season. One thing he has always been good at since being drafted by the Bills is finding ways to score near the goal line, and he found another way to drive defenses crazy in the first quarter of the playoffs.
