Justin Bieber is reflecting on his high-profile past mistakes.

On January 23, he shared a photo of him getting arrested after driving while under the influence in 2014. He took the time to reflect on where he was in his life and how much he's changed since he was a teenager.

'7 years ago today I was arrested, not my finest hour. Not proud of where I was at in my life. I was hurting, unhappy, confused, angry, mislead, misunderstood and angry at god.. I also wore too much leather for someone in Miami,' he captioned the post. 'All this to say God has brought me a long way. From then 'til now I do realise something.. God was as close to me then as he is right now.'

Shortly after the incident, a police spokesperson told the Miami New Times that 'Bieber's entourage blocked traffic at Pine Tree Drive and 26th Street to create a 'drag racing strip,' so that the pop star would have ample space to speed.' Justin was speeding at 55 to 60 mph in a 30 mph zone. After pleading guilty to a lesser charge of reckless endangerment, he avoided jail time and was required to make a charitable donation and take anger management courses.

Justin ended his post with, 'My encouragement to you is to ‘let your past be a reminder of how far god has brought you. Don’t allow shame to ruin your 'today' let the forgiveness of Jesus take over and watch your life blossom into all that God has designed you to be. LOVE YOU GUYS WITH MY WHOLE HEART.'
