Kate Middleton re-wears one of our favourite ever looks
The Duchess of Cambridge has reworn one of our favourite festive looks ever to toast a special occasion.
Catherine appeared in a video message with husband Prince William to mark Scottish holiday Burns Night (the birthday of national bard or poet Robert Burns) – which took place yesterday – and provide frontline NHS workers in Dundee with a traditional lunch of haggis, neeps and tatties, via NHS Charities Together for which they are patrons.
In the pre-recorded clip, shared to Kensington Palace's Instagram, the Cambridges explain that Burns Night is different this year, but the sentiment of coming together – albeit virtually – is more important than ever.
'We know Burns Night is a special evening for Scots around the world—a time to come together to eat, drink and to celebrate the life and work of Robert Burns,' William said.
Kate then added: 'Sadly this year is a little different. And for many of you working on the front line, tonight will be a very different occasion, as you work tirelessly through this pandemic to protect the most vulnerable in our society.'
For the video message, Catherine opted for a red tartan-printed blouse and skirt set by Emilia Wickstead, which she paired with a contrasting Peter Pan–style collar and dangling pearl earrings. She left her hair sleek, straight, and parted to the side.
Kate previously teamed the skirt with a black cardigan to host a Christmas party for military families in 2018, alongside Prince William. She then wore the top to attend Christmas at Buckingham Palace.
The video message is Kate's second appearance in just a few days. On Friday, she chatted to nurses working on the frontline in England to hear how they are going above and beyond to care for their patients during the pandemic.
