Katie Price says her son Harvey is in intensive care

Katie Price has said her son Harvey is in intensive care in hospital.

Eighteen-year-old Harvey, who is partially blind, has Prader-Willi syndrome, autism, and learning and behavioural difficulties as a result of a rare genetic disorder.

In a message to her 1.9 million Twitter followers on Sunday night, Price wrote: "I can confirm that Harvey is in intensive care and in the best hands. I would like to thank the ambulance services and the hospital staff for the quick response and making him stable."

The teenager was soon sent a host of messages of support on social media, with actress Sally Phillips tweeting: "Lots of love and prayers for a speedy recovery".

Harvey's half-brother, Junior Andre, wrote on Instagram "Love you big bro", while a comment from his half-sister Princess' Instagram account said: "I love you harv soo much".

Reality star Nathan Henry, from the TV series Geordie Shore, wrote on Twitter: "Sending lots of love and prayers Harvey."

Harvey was previously admitted to hospital last month after complaining of chest pains that felt "like needles", Price said in a video posted on her YouTube channel at the time.

He was later discharged after taking tests.

Price and Harvey are due to feature together in a forthcoming BBC documentary.

The film will explore the realities of raising a disabled child and will capture their lives as Price has "difficult decisions to make about [Harvey's] future", the broadcaster said.

The former glamour model and reality TV star said: "Being a parent of a child with complex needs, as Harvey has, presents daily challenges.

"Every day presents a new challenge, no two days are the same. We have learnt and grown together, and together we have built our private world, a bond between mother and son which goes deeper than most - we are unbreakable.

"Harvey has taken on every hurdle life has thrown at him - from birth, being told he would never see, to now drawing rainbows - he was told he would never be able to engage in everyday life, but is often the life and soul of the party.

"Harvey touches the hearts of all those he meets - his heart knows no bounds when giving out love and affection."
