Kelly Osbourne has opened up about relapsing after nearly four years of sobriety, telling her Instagram followers that she is “not proud of it” but that she is “back on track”.

The TV personality spoke candidly about her relapse on her Instagram Stories on Monday, where she began a series of videos: “This is a little hard for me to talk about, but I’ve always promised you that I will always be honest with you about where I’m at and what’s going on in my road to recovery.

“I relapsed. Not proud of it. But I am back on track and I will be doing a podcast this week where I tell everybody about what’s going on and what happened.”

The 36-year-old also assured her fans that she is now clean, and that she plans to be “sober tomorrow” but that she has learned the key is taking her sobriety one day at a time.

“And I just want to let you know that I am sober today,” she said. “And I’m going to be sober tomorrow. But I’ve learned it truly is just one day at a time and I just wanted to tell you guys the truth because I never, ever want to lie to you.”

Osbourne concluded the videos expressing her gratitude for the love and support from her fans, before promising that they will hear from her soon.

The Project Runway Junior judge has frequently spoken about her journey to sobriety from drugs and alcohol, with Osbourne revealing in August 2018 that she was one-year sober.

In May 2019, Osbourne appeared on the British TV show Lorraine, where she reflected on her decision to get sober and how it has changed her life.

“I am almost two years sober and it’s completely changed my life,” she said at the time. “I didn’t think that I could do anything if I wasn’t drunk or high, because I was scared of everything. And I let it get the better of me.

“And [I’m] now seeing that I don’t need that and my life is better and I don’t have any drama in my life. And I’ve accepted the fact that, really, I know I’ve said this throughout my whole life, but I really understand it now that I’m not perfect and I’m never going to be, and I don’t want to be.”

In August of that year, Osbourne celebrated being two years sober on Instagram, where she expressed feeling “overwhelmed with gratitude”.

“If you are new to sobriety stick to it, life really does get good,” she wrote.
