Yahoo Finance Kellyanne Conway ‘under police investigation’ after topless photo of daughter Claudia appears on Twitter
The former White House adviser resigned from her post as senior counsel to Donald Trump last summer
(REUTERS)Police are investigating after a topless picture of Kellyanne Conway teenage daughter Claudia is said to have appeared on Twitter, it has been reported.
Social media users shared cropped versions of the picture, which was reportedly posted on the former White House adviser’s Twitter page via the platform’s Fleets feature, which deletes posts after 24 hours.
Alpine Police in New Jersey told the New York Post that the force is investigating the incident and that an officer visited the family’s home on Monday. Twitter also told Variety that it was investigating .
“Through technology and human review, we’ll proactively remove any images that violate the Twitter Rules,” said a Twitter spokesman.
TikTok users alerted Claudia, 16, about the alleged nude photo by commenting on her videos, to which Claudia replied “What”.
YouTube star Mongeau shared a video on Instagram which appeared to show a FaceTime call with Claudia who can be seen arguing with two figures that are believed to be her mother and father, George Conway.
Claudia can be heard saying in the video: “You posted a naked picture of me. You literally posted a nude photo of me, and you can say you didn't, but millions of people saw it.”
Claudia later apologised for publicly accusing her mother of sharing the picture and said she would be taking a break from social media.
In videos shared on Tuesday, Claudia pleaded with her 1.6 million TikTok followers to stop contacting authorities and to stop “inciting violence and hate”. She claimed they were putting her family in danger by sharing the accusations.
“I have faith and I know my mother would never put something like that on the internet, same with me,” Claudia said in one of the videos.
“My mother and I, we fight like mothers and daughters but we also love like mothers and daughters and I do love her.”
She added in another clip: “Yesterday when I was made aware of the situation, I was distraught and reacted very irrationally and impulsively and it’s something that I do regret.
“I know that my mom would never, ever post anything to hurt me like that intentionally and I do believe she was hacked.”
Mrs Conway was Donald Trump's third campaign manager in 2016 and the first female campaign manager to successfully elect a president.
In August last year she announced she was resigning from her post as senior counsel to Mr Trump to focus on being “more mama”.
Her resignation came after Claudia said on Twitter that her mother’s job had “ruined” her life.
