Kesha Shows True Colours With New Single

Kesha Shows True Colours With New Single

Kesha has said her new single is a "declaration of my truth" after promoting the track on her Twitter account.

True Colours is a collaboration with electronic producer Zedd which the pair first performed in a surprise appearance at Coachella festival earlier this month.

The song is a new version of the title track from Zedd's 2015 album.

Kesha, 29, tweeted: "This is more than a song. it's a declaration of my truth #truecolors."

This is her first single since 2013 and follows her ongoing legal battle with Sony and producer Dr Luke.

The singer sued Dr Luke in October 2014, accusing him of emotional, physical and sexual abuse.

She has been trying to cut all ties with him but was given permission by Sony and Dr Luke's Kemosabe label to release True Colours.

The song contains some powerful lyrics, including: "I'm not afraid/All my life, one page at a time/I'll show you mine, my true colours/No I won't apologise for the fire in my eyes/let me show you my true colours/it ain't your rainbow."

Zedd showed support for Kesha and offered to work with her in a tweet, after a judge denied her injunction against Dr Luke.

"Very very sorry to hear about your whole situation," he tweeted at the singer.

"I'll be happy to produce a song for you if you want my help."
