Yahoo Finance 'Grand Designs' Kevin McCloud admits being rude when it comes to Covid compliance
TV’s Kevin McCloud has admitted shouting at people in the street if they are not adhering to social distancing guidelines.
The Grand Designs host - known for his polite and laidback demeanour - confessed the anonymity of wearing a face mask in public meant he finds it easy to be rude when it comes to emphasising the importance of limiting the spread of the virus.
According to The Mirror McCloud, 61, said: “I've got quite good at being rude. So if somebody approaches, I say, 'Excuse me back off! What do you think you're doing? Be Covid compliant.'

"I'm quite bad walking down the street now. I tell people off. You can now, I can be completely anonymous in a hat and a mask."
Channel 4 property development show Grand Designs has continued filming since the first national lockdown lifted in June 2020 and McCloud working amid the coronavirus pandemic had made him very aware of the safety measures required to limit the spread of COVID-19.
He said: “We've developed a protocol for all the various places, whether we're filming in a building or outside, quite diligently.
“We have Covid compliance officers with us at all times, checking out here, making sure we are all being good.”
McCloud - who has hosted Grand Designs since it began in 1999 - also revealed he had a disagreement with one of the home owners on the new series, about their plans for an old biscuit mill.

He said: “A historic building's character is basically made up of thousands and thousands of details of what it is, and if you start rooting out a little bit before you know it, weirdly you've ripped out everything and you've lost the character.
“And then you start to try and put it back in and it suddenly looks like a Disney version of what it was, and so anyway we don't come to blows, but we have our differences of opinion, which is quite fun."
Grand Designs returns with a new series on Channel 4 on Wednesday 6th January.
