Ultrarunner John Kelly tweeted that conditions on the route were ‘amazing’ for Kim’s record attempt, later adding that ‘it’s by no means easy, but a very doable amount of time’ as Kim began the fifth leg with 3:40 left to beat the previous record.
With ~3:40 left to break the Paddy Buckley Round record (deadline 21:37 UK time), @CollisonKim is starting leg 5 over the Snowdon Range. It's by no means easy, but a very doable amount of time. Hopefully he doesn't have to queue at the Snowdon summit! 😱 https://t.co/lfMEoSNUy4

Paddy Buckley, in Snowdonia, Wales, is renowned as one of the UK’s ‘Big 3’ fell running challenges, along with the Bob Graham and Charlie Ramsey rounds in England’s Lake District and Lochaber, Scotland respectively.
The route includes 47 peaks across more than 60 miles of land, with 8700 metres of ascent. It’s regarded by some runners as being slightly harder than Bob Graham in England due to its rougher terrain and additional height.
In July 2020 Kim also broke the Lakeland 24-hour record, Summiting 78 fells in 24 hours, he just beat the record set by Mark Hartell in 1997.
