Kim Kardashian made a case for leather chaps last night at an awards ceremony in New York City last night.
The 39-year-old reality TV star and entrepreneur stepped out in a pair of what appeared to be crotch-skimming leather boots.
But, on closer inspection, we deduced the reality star was wearing a pair skintight leather chaps worn over equally tight jeans and heeled boots.
The look, was designed by Burberry designer Riccardo Tisci, who Kim and husband Kanye West were at the event to support.
Chaps – a shortened version of the Spanish word chaparreras are traditionally a protective leather garment worn by cowboys and motorcyclists.
They are typically buckled over trousers with a belt, although it is not clear whether Kardashian’s are sewn on to her jeans or secured with a hidden fastening.
Kardashian wore the stand-out leather look to attend the ninth annual WSJ. Magazine Innovator Awards together with West, 42.
Kardashian is known for breaking style boundaries with her looks.
Her recent, stand-out outfits include this year’s wet-look Met Gala dress, a Thierry Mugler silicone dress which required her to wear an extreme corset underneath.
The mum-of-four also wore a polarising extreme cut-out look, which some likened to a backwards sports bra, by the same designer earlier this year.
Kardashian’s daughter North West has also enjoyed her mum’s boots collection, tottering around in a pair of her mum’s snakeskin boots earlier this year.
